How can I be sure that it is safe to purchase through Sippican Designs?
Sippican Designs stands behind all their products and policies. However, to further ensure your confidence, our checkout is done strictly through PayPal. They keep your financial information completely secure. They also offer buyer protection, in addition to what we offer. If an item doesn’t arrive, or doesn’t match our description, you will be reimbursed for the full purchase price of the item plus shipping costs on eligible purchases. This is our policy and the policy of PayPal as well.

How do I care for and maintain my jewelry purchase?
Sterling silver does best when it is worn regularly and so Sippican Designs encourages you to wear and enjoy your jewelry. To prevent your jewelry from tarnishing when not being worn, please store it in the airtight bag that it was shipped in. If your sterling jewelry becomes dirty, wash it in warm water and a mild detergent. Be sure to thoroughly dry your item as prolonged exposure to water can cause dark spots to appear. For jewelry with holes or engraving, a hair dryer can be quickly used to fully remove all water. Warning: Please use caution, as silver can get very hot. Sterling cleaning cloths also work well for removing tarnish, as do sterling cleaning solutions. However some stones or gems are too delicate to be dipped in sterling cleaning solutions so please take care to only dip solid sterling pieces. Many stones such as amethyst, emerald, opal, pearl, peridot, tanzanite and tourmaline are very delicate and easily abraded or scratched. Most of the Sippican Design jewelry is handcrafted and can snap or break if handled harshly or abusively. Please handle all Sippican Design pieces as you would any fine jewelry that you own. Therefore, avoid stacking jewelry. Extreme temperatures, perfumes, cosmetics, ultrasonic cleaning and household chemicals can also damage jewelry.

Please note: Because all computer screens are different, colors and appearances of an actual item may be slightly different from the website photo. Also a large number of our pieces are handmade and therefore slight variations may occur.

Do you ship out of the country?
We only ship within the United States.

I like a piece of jewelry that states it is “33mm”. What does this mean?
The “mm” indicates the total drop of the item, or how low it hangs from top to bottom. This will include the wire, if it is an earring, and the bail if it is a pendant. This length will not include any extenders for bracelets, necklaces, or chains. Bangles are measured around the inside circumference.

What will my jewelry look like when it arrives? How will it be packaged?
To help prevent tarnishing, each piece of jewelry is placed in an airtight jeweler’s ziplock with an anti-tarnish tab. The bag is then placed into a sheer organza pouch with satin drawstring and nestled into an elegant gift box.

Can I personalize my gift by including a gift card?
Yes. We would be happy to include a handwritten gift card at no additional charge. Please include the wording that you would like to appear on the card during checkout in the “Additional Information” section. Please keep your wording to no more then 60 characters (including spaces).

How quickly will my item be shipped?
We ship all items within two business days of receiving your order. All items may be returned for a full refund of your purchase price and shipping costs. Exchanges will incur no further shipping charges. Please return the item with a copy of the receipt and your contact information and reason for return within 30 days of the original purchase date. What is the quality of your jewelry?
Sippican Designs stands behind all its products. Unless otherwise indicated, all jewelry is sterling silver (92.5) or better. Stones and gems are clearly labeled in each item’s description. We strive to provide the best quality jewelry at affordable prices. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase please return the item for a full refund. (See refund policy)

Do you charge sales tax to ship to my state?
Our company is located in New Mexico, and so we will charge sales tax on all items shipped with in this state only.

I need extra help choosing my jewelry. How can I contact your company?
Please email us or call 410-430-9257. We will be happy to help you coordinate the perfect gift or select some wonderful pieces for yourself.

I have several holiday gifts I need to purchase for my professional peers. Is there anyone who can help me coordinate these purchases?
Yes, please contact us with the best time to reach you. We would be happy to assist you with these gifts.

Can I check on my order’s shipping status?
Yes. All packages are processed within 2 business days and sent USPS Priority Mail (delivered in 1-3 business days). So you should expect to receive your package within 5 business days from the date you placed your order. As soon as your package is shipped we will send you the tracking number as well as the expected arrival date. While the arrival date is not guaranteed with Priority Mail, you can generally expect the package to arrive within a day of the date indicated. Please contact us if you have any problems.
